Q: What is St. Anthony Hall?
A: St. A's is a co-ed literary fraternity.

Q: Where do you live?
A: In a mansion. It's called King House, and in 1895 it was built at the corner of Hope and Benevolent Streets. It's still here.

Q: So what's a co-ed literary fraternity?
A: Think of all the things that come to mind when you think of a "frat." Now throw them all out, because St. Anthony Hall is nothing like that. We're poets and scientists, athletes and artists who like to express ourselves.

Q: Don't fraternities just drink all the time? And haze?
A: Should drinking be the be all and end all of social life? We don't think so. So yeah, there's drinking – we are college kids – but our parties don't die when the alcohol runs out. As for hazing- never had it, never will.

Q: So what does it mean to be a "fraternity" then?
A: For us, it's about having brothers and sisters whom you trust and rely on – and who trust and rely on you. It's a little corny, but it's not a bad way to go.

Q: What does a co-ed literary fraternity do?
A: Above all we're good friends – and we party and chill like good friends do. We have everything from campus-wide parties to spontaneous late night conversations. We also put out a literary magazine and we throw events people seem to like.

Q: What kind of events?
A: We host dance parties, poetry slams, open mic firesides, the International King House of Pancakes (IKHOP) – and many more, besides.

Q: The "Saint" in your name - are you a religious group?
A: No, we are not religiously affiliated. We're named after St. Anthony. (And in honor of Uncle Tony we've hung paintings of his temptations above the fireplaces.)

Q: You seem to really like King House. What's so cool about the place?
A: It's a beautiful 1890s mansion that comes with three lounges, a study library, a fully stocked kitchen, a bar, a working (and often used) fireplace, a solarium, a piano, individual bathrooms, some of Brown's largest doubles, and the day-to-day comfort that you're living in a house, not a dorm.

Q: OK, so you're a fraternity. Do you have secrets?
A: If we did, do you think we'd write them on our website?

Q: Are you a secret society?
A: Not officially.

Q: How do I find out more?
A: The best way to get to know us is to stop by the Hall (directions). To learn more - or to be added to the event mailing list - you can always email St.AnthonyHall@gmail.com. See you at the Hall!
